We are very proud of our gin, especially because besides telling a good story, it tastes great - thanks to Holte Wine and the experts from OriGinCPH. We hope people will enjoy it, and for the veterans, it is a great way to open up to tell their stories - both the good and the bad.Jeppe Michael Jensen, Chairman of the Veteran Foundation
A MISSION GIN INTRODUCTION
Mission Gin is an alliance between the Veteran Foundation and some good people from Holte Wine (Holte Vinlager) and OriGinCPH. With this bottle, you not only get a unique gin, but you also welcome our envoys who return home from the world's conflict zones - our Veterans.
We made it to pay tribute to all Danish veterans and to give you the opportunity to taste the world! This special bottle contains selected ingredients from several mission areas from where veterans have brought the ingredients back home.
WHAT IS A VETERAN?
Veterans are people who have been deployed on behalf of Denmark on an international mission. It can be soldiers, police officers, doctors, nurses, relief workers and several others. Since 1948, Denmark has been deployed to over 60 countries, hence we have more than 60,000 veterans among us to today.
WHO MADE MISSION GIN?
OriGinCPH is an award-winning gin producer whom, in partnership with Holte Wine, the Veteran Foundation, and some veterans, has come to the right balance of 19 ingredients from Afghanistan, the Balkans, Iraq and several other places.
BUT HOW DOES IT TASTE?
It has turned into an exotic, warm and spicy gin, with soul and a unique story. It is made for those who appreciate a good G&T and among other things you can catch the taste of: Rose pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, saffron, orange and lime - and it goes well with a little fresh orange peel on top.
The label is designed with inspiration from an ammunition box, which can be seen by several small details, like "M / 19" which is a way to tell what year an object was introduced in the Armed Forces. The number code at the top is a hidden greeting to ENGAGE, which is a festival that The Veteran Foundation is also behind. 5 = E (5th letter i alphabet), 14 = N, etc.
Furthermore, the bottle comes in a nice gift box, where the story behind it is told, and it has a world map of places where the veterans have been posted.
